Three Year Blog Anniversary!

Times flies when you're having fun! Today marks my three year blog anniversary! I had no idea what I was doing when I started and I certainly had no idea of all the amazing things that it would lead to and all the amazing people I would meet along the way. I created my blog as a place to post all the things that were inspiring me in design, fashion, photography, art, and New York and it turned out that others were interested in them too. I want to thank everyone who reads my blog everyday. Your support and encouragement is definitely what keeps me excited about sharing my finds day after day! So I really should say, happy anniversary to us!

Speaking of Vogue...

Speaking of Vogue, the August 2010 Age issue will be hitting the newsstands with Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover. She looks great but why does it feel like the same five actresses are on the cover of every magazine?! But I digress, seems Ms. Paltrow has written a cookbook, My Father's Daughter, that will be published next spring. Hence, the photos in the kitchen. According to Vogue, Gwyneth's cookbook is meant to "channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me. Invest in what's real. Drink while you cook. Make it fun." Sounds good to me!

For Sale: Brooklyn Brownstone Featured in Vogue

If you've got about $5.5 million lying around, this five story Brooklyn brownstone can be yours. It belongs to Charles and Olya Thompson and was featured in Vogue this past January. Olya's a bit of an It Girl about town who hails from Russia while Charles is apparently a photographer. They lovingly restored this home so I'm not sure why they are selling. Perhaps with four children they've outgrown the space or maybe they are focusing their energy on their Moscow home. Not sure but just hope they cleaned up all those petals!

Cocteau's Chic Abode

I don't really need another reason to visit Paris again but I've found one anyway. Jean Cocteau's home at Milly-la-ForĂȘt is now open to the public for tours. Cocteau lived in the home, an hour outside Paris, from 1947 until his death in 1963. Pierre BergĂ© acquired the property in 2002 and spearheaded the renovation of the home and gardens which will also allow visitors to view artwork and films. Cocteau once said, "Art produces ugly things which frequently become more beautiful with time." I don't think his house was ever ugly, but it certainly has become more beautiful with time!

Who Wears Short Shorts: Part Deux

It's brutally hot again today in New York and one of my male friends confirmed that it's even worse if you have to wear a suit. Poor corporate guys. Too bad they can't wear shorts to work like these cool guys! They definitely look chic to me!

Gossip Girl in Paris

While the rest of us were eating hot dogs and watching fireworks this past weekend, Serena and Blair were painting the town red in Paris and by the looks of it, eating Ladurée macaroons! Gossip Girl has decamped to the City of Lights to shoot season 4 and I'm hoping the change of scenery will breathe new life into the series that seriously stalled in season 3. I'm also wondering who those boys are in the photos. They definitely don't look like Chuck or Nate to me! Oh la la!
